“Anthos” – Orchard Oil Painting on Linen
👩🎨 Studio thoughts:
I named the piece Anthos, a Greek word meaning "flower" or "bloom". I was drawn to it for how it captures the offering the horse gathered.
For this first release of Orchard, I’m focusing on the interaction between you and the horse, shaping scenes that invite a feeling of hope and joy. The collection is all about how we can strip back to our bare branches to then emerge again stronger than before and more aware.
In this painting, there’s a sense of being offered the harvest. Where did the basket come from? Has the horse collected the pile to present to you? How does it make you feel? Is it a gesture or something symbolic?
Horses have a special relationship with us; they are deeply woven into my life, and I feel there is a quiet understanding in their presence which is something I can’t fully explain, but I hope to show through my work.
The colour palette was kept soft and warm, allowing space for a calm feeling whilst still holding depth and detail through the use of my brush markings.
Please allow up to one week for dispatch.
🎨 Painting Specs:
Painted on a premium fine art linen canvas, the textured surface adds warmth and subtle movement to the background.
Oil on linen canvas 40cm x 50cm, plus framing, overall the piece is 53.3cm x 43cm.
To help visualise this piece is near A2 in sizing four times the size of A4. Please use a measuring tape to find the true size :)
All orders are sent fully insured via Royal Mail, Parcelforce, or DPD using tracked services.
For international orders outside of the UK, please note that larger pieces will be carefully unframed and rolled into a protective tube for shipping. You will need to have the piece re-framed once it arrives.
Unfortunately, due to size restrictions, I’m unable to ship framed works outside of the UK. Framed international shipping may be possible on request, though this comes with a higher delivery cost. Please contact me to discuss.
